AskYourStay (“we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by David Skillett, a sole trader registered in the United Kingdom. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our platform at askyourstay.com.

1. Information We Collect

Host Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Email address
  • Name (optional)
  • Password (stored securely using hashing)
  • Payment information (processed by Stripe; we do not store card details)

Property Information

Information you provide about your properties, including property descriptions, house rules, wifi details, local recommendations, and other content you choose to upload. This information is used to power your AI concierge.

Guest Chat Data

When guests interact with your AI concierge, we collect the messages they send and the responses generated. Guests are not required to provide any personal information to use the chat. No account or login is needed.

Analytics Data

We use Google Analytics to collect anonymised usage data including pages visited, time on site, device type, and general location (country/city level). We also use cookies for essential functionality such as authentication.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and improve the AskYourStay service
  • To power the AI concierge with your property information
  • To generate analytics and insights for property hosts
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions
  • To send service-related emails (account, billing, product updates)
  • To respond to support requests

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

  • Supabase (database and authentication hosting)
  • Stripe (payment processing)
  • Anthropic (AI model provider for the concierge chat)
  • Vercel (website hosting)
  • Google Analytics (anonymised usage analytics)

Each third party processes data in accordance with their own privacy policies. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers provided by Supabase and Vercel. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest where supported. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Chat conversation data is retained for analytics purposes. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.

6. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict processing
  • Data portability (receive your data in a machine-readable format)
  • Withdraw consent at any time

8. Children

AskYourStay is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes by email. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
